Google to redefine the direct messaging and Video Chat App
Allo and Duo- are preparing to disrupt instant messaging and video chat. Facebook need to worry.
Google New Messaging App
When WhatsApp was introduced in the direct messaging world, it was an obvious hit. The sole reason was the innovation that was required in instant communication. Though FaceBook now owns the world mostly used direct and instant messaging app, entry of SnapChat seemed quite non-disruptive when one had read the launch news, at least at a first glance. However, SnapChat marked its strong footprint in the messaging world because of the disruptiveness it brought along with the unique features, user interface, and emoticons. While in a long run, we had not seen a single entry in the direct messaging app and live video chat, except FaceBook live video streaming app. The rationale is simple. WhatsApp, SnapChat and to some level Facebook Messenger have taken the massive lead in direct & instant messaging. In order to shift the masses to a new direct and instant messaging platform needs a complete & differentiated makeover. That is what Google’s “Allo”- smart messaging app and “Duo”- smart video calling app is offering. It is disruptive in nature. Let us see; how?
Allo and Duo, Google’s new communication couple is going to be introduced in a very short time. Let us first hear from Google, what it has to say about Allo and Duo.
“You can chat one-on-one with the assistant, or call on Google in a group chat with friends. Either way, you no longer have to jump between apps to do things like book a dinner reservation with friends, get up-to-date sports scores, settle a bet, or play a game. The assistant in Allo lets you bring things like Search, Maps, YouTube and Translate to all your conversations, so that you and your friends can use Google together.”
Also Google said that Allo and Duo,
“…understands your world, so you can ask for things like your agenda for the day, details of your flight and hotel, or photos from your last trip. And since it understands natural language patterns, you can just chat like yourself and it’ll understand what you’re saying. For example, “Is my flight delayed?” will return information about your flight status.”
Natural Language understanding is the innovation that Google Allo is going to bring for masses. Right before you want to respond, Allo will automatically understand the standard replies to be communicated including replies to images. Allo will auto-generate replies by understanding the images.
Moreover, best part lies in the video call. We are used to answering (or pick) live call having the interface displaying just the receiver’s name and image (photo), and then live video chat begins. However, Google Duo displays the live video right before you answer or pick up the video call. With Duo, you will see that your group of close friends has called you from yours favorite hangout place in the town! This feature is for sure going to shift the masses for Duo.
On other side, Nintendo is heading for a disruptive social media network app and an announcement of Google’s new messaging and live video chat for short time has poured worries in FaceBook’s cup of tea.
You can have a complete detail with visuals (illustrations) that Google has provided to let you acquainted with uniqueness of Allo- Smart Direct Messaging App and Duo- Smart Live Video Calling App here. Google also ensures end-to-end encryption in a way that WhatsApp did few weeks back.
