FACEBOOK NOW LAUNCHES ITS OWN VIDEO STREAMING
Facebook announced on October 13th, 2015, that it is coming up with more new features and specification on its social media site. The California-based company had recently launched Reactions in order to let Facebook users express more easily and conveniently with the right kind of emotion.
Facebook had also launched its On This Day feature in March this year which received a mixed review from the users across the globe. This feature enabled users to revisit the things from the past that occurred on a particular day in order to remind them of things which they might have otherwise forgotten.
Facebook on October 13th, 2015 now aired the news of its video streaming feature that is globally available to the users. This special feature now has the power to play videos on Facebook directly and ease the work of the user who before this used to stream the videos on Youtube.
Facebook’s step to enter into video streaming has now weakened the link that the users had with youtube as now Facebook has its own sidebar where all your videos can be saved.
For saving a video you and the other users can just scroll the cursor on the video on the right upper side of the video and as soon as the save button appears, you can click and save it.
Will Cathcart, Head of Product Management at Facebook recently said “We’re pleased with the initial results, which show that people who have suggested videos are discovering and watching more new videos”.
“We’ve now rolled out suggested videos to most people on iPhone globally and are starting to test ads within the experience”, Cathcart added.
Facebook has begun testing the suggested video feature on web browsers and planned to do the same with its application tailored for smartphones powered by Google-backed Android software.
“We’ve also been working on a number of features for publishers to help them better manage and control their videos on Facebook. We recently began testing new video matching technology with a set of partners, with the long-term goal of providing a comprehensive video management system for creators. We’ve also rolled out new video tools for Pages — like updates to Page Insights and video upload improvements— to help video publishers grow their businesses on Facebook.”
With all the new features being added to Facebook this year, it will not come as a surprise if they roll out something new before the year-end.
