FACEBOOK’S LEAD ADS AND YOUR BUSINESS
In the summer of 2015 (June 25th), Facebook announced that it is testing a way to fill out forms easily and conveniently. And that it’s coming up with a feature called Lead Ads.
Facebook speakers said, “Lead Ads to make the mobile sign up process easier by automatically populating contact information that people have given Facebook, like email addresses. We’re testing different versions of lead ads that would let people sign up for things like newsletters, price estimates, follow-up calls and business information.”
This Lead Ads uses a native sign up flow of Facebook.
People might start wondering about where is the privacy then if everything will be auto filled and shared? But Facebook and cleared the air by further answering this question even before being asked by anyone. “Like our other ad formats, we’ve built this ad type with privacy in mind. People can edit their contact information, and the information isn’t sent to the business until a person clicks the ‘submit’ button. Advertisers may only use this information in accordance with their privacy policies, which we make available in the lead ads before people click submit. Advertisers are also restricted from re-selling lead information to third parties.”
Now on October 7, 2015, Facebook announced that Lead Ads are now available to advertisers everywhere and that too with a whole lot of additional features that make signing up for business information easy for people or your customer and more valuable for the businesses.
Lead Ads are the best way to connect businesses to people who are interested in hearing from them or buying things from them.
Facebook added, “Whether businesses want to encourage people to sign up for their newsletter, an offer, an event or more information about their product, lead ads simplify the mobile signup process, helping businesses hear from people interested in their business.”
It also stated that ” When someone clicks on your lead ads, a form opens with the person’s contact information automatically populated, based on the information they share with Facebook, like their name and email address. Automatically populating the contact information that people share with Facebook makes filling in the form as fast as two taps: one click on the ad to open the form and another to submit the autofill form. Like all of our ad types, lead ads were built with privacy in mind. People can edit their contact information before submitting the form, and this information isn’t sent to the business until a person clicks submit”
